The Dirt Road Tom Hour
Airs Friday 8:00 am
“Dirt Road Tom” (Media Superstar)
Tom was born at Hanford in 1942, he became Radio-Active at a very early age. This may explain his current interest in radio broadcasting. Tom and his family moved to Raleigh Hills where he attended Beaverton High School and belonged to the outlaw car club the Pacemakers. He graduated from BHS in 1960 and has since been active in class reunion activities. After a stint in the Navy, Tom attended San Jose State University and graduated Magna Come Loudly in 1970. Tom has always dreamed of returning to San Jose State University, for his Ph.D. in radio broadcast Journalism (he has always been able to pile it higher and deeper). After graduation from college, Tom established a thirty year career with the United States Postal Service in the San Jose area.
In 2002, Tom moved, with his late wife Gloria, to the La Pine area where he has been active in Civic/Affairs. Tom has two sons, Christopher in Arizona and Chad in Indiana. Tom became a DJ on KITC 106.5 FM on the Dirt Road Tom Radio Show in 2011 as a part of his life-long- interest in Radio Broadcasting. He was inspired by Pat Rice, his mentor and former KITC 106.5 FM DJ, who taught him everything he knows.
Tom has since become an International Media Superstar, broadcasting to other states and foreign countries through the internet. Tom would like to see his show syndicated and would also like to be offered stock options from KITC/KNCP management. There may be lots of dirt roads in the La Pine area and there may also be other Toms, but there is only one “Dirt Road Tom”. That’s what sets Tom apart from other DJs. Tune into KNCP 107.3 FM on Friday mornings at 7:00 AM for an hour of Humor, Nostalgic Music, Music by Local Artists, and Community Events.
