Dick Robinson

Throughout the sixties and into the seventies, Dick Robinson ruled the radio in Southern New England. He was the confidante and friend to tens of thousands of teenage listeners at a time when radio personalities were major celebrities. Through his primary business, the Connecticut School of Broadcasting, which he founded in 1964, he is responsible for thousands of broadcast careers — including many professionals heard daily on major radio stations and TV networks locally and nationwide. Today the school has grown to twelve campuses from Massachusetts to Miami.

His respected relationships with entertainers, combined with his great heart to help charities, has led to millions of dollars in fundraising successes for deserving nonprofits. Vic Damone, Keely Smith, the late Al Martino, Debby Boone, Jack Jones and Ann Hampton Callaway have headlined blockbuster events on behalf of their friend Dick Robinson to fundraise within his communities.

Dick Robinson is Founder/Chairman of the non-profit organization, The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook. This 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation was created to make the public aware, especially children and young adults, of what Dick believes to be the greatest music ever recorded. Dick is Immediate Past President of the American Heart Association of Palm Beach. He is President of the Palm Beach Round Table and Vice President of the International Society of Palm Beach and serves on the Boards of many charities and arts organizations.

Dick Robinson was bitten by the “bug of broadcasting” in his teens and is still going strong in the radio and TV industry at age 78. His latest venture – WLML Legends 100.3 FM airs exclusively, music of the Great American Songbook, hand-in-hand with legendsradio.com–worldwide–also a 24-hour/day “player” of what Dick Robinson calls “the greatest music ever recorded.” In barely three years, Legends 100.3 FM has become one of the most prominent FMs in South Florida. Much of the radio station’s success is due to the fact that it is “live and local,” but more importantly, its passionate air personalities are like family. The other part of the success story, of course, is the music of the Great American Songbook, and Legends 100.3 FM provides legendary music performed by legendary artists of yesterday and today–playing song favorites all day and night.
